Kia Canada reports best month ever and extends industry-leading sales growth streak to 40 consecutive months





KIA CANADA - Kia Canada Inc. (KCI) reported its best month ever in April with 8,010 new vehicles sold, an 18% increase when compared to April 2011. All regions across Canada continue to experience consistent year-over-year growth with record sales, contributing to the industry-best sales streak of 40 consecutive months.
 
The Kia Optima mid-size sedan was the volume leader in April and continues its record sales pace with its third successive best-month ever achieving 1,663 units. The Kia Forte family including the sedan, 5-Door and Koup, accomplished volume sales of 1,581 vehicles. The all-new sub-compact Rio, including the sedan and 5-Door have also attained best-ever month results with 1,532 units reported, sustaining a 101% increase. This represents the best month of Rio sales in the vehicles 9-year nameplate history. Additionally, the Georgia-built Kia Sorento utility vehicle also contributed to strong volume sales with 1,148 units.

In the month of April, KCI welcomed Mississauga-Brampton MP Eve Adams to their head office and presented her with over 4,300 signatures to deliberate with the House of Commons and encourage national recognition of the 2nd annual Drive Change Day on August 21st, 2012. Kia Canada also partnered with Toronto FC for the largely successful 'Play It Forward' used soccer equipment drive held at BMO Field before the game on April 21st, where 4 Sorentos were completely filled with donations.
 
May Incentives   
 
Kia Canada is pleased to continue the "Dare to Compare" Sales Event for the month of May. To support this event, Kia will continue to offer very attractive incentives programs including 0% financing on select 2012 models and "Don't Pay for 90 Days" on select 2012 and 2013 Models.  Cash buyers can enjoy up to $4,500 cash savings on select 12MY Forte.  In addition, Kia Canada will continue the Optima, Car of the Year Test Drive Challenge.  The Test Drive challenge is for anyone shopping for a new mid-size sedan.  If after the Optima test drive, a customer should decide to instead purchase a qualifying competitive manufacturer's vehicle within program period of the test drive, Kia Canada will give them a $100 Gas Card which exemplifies Kia's confidence in this multiple award winning vehicle.
