NISSAN CANADA - Nissan Canada Foundation has once again reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare by extending support to the newly amalgamated Habitat for Humanity New Brunswick (Habitat NB). This collaboration aims to empower Habitat NB in its quest to advocate for affordable housing and bolster its efforts in building more homes for families in need across New Brunswick.

Nissan Canada's recent assistance to Habitat for Humanity New Brunswick is a testament to their longstanding partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada. Each year, Nissan Canada extends support to one local Habitat in Canada through a substantial grant for the purchase of a new vehicle, aiding in site access and facilitating the day-to-day operations of Habitat teams. This year, Habitat New Brunswick received this generous grant and opted to acquire a new Nissan Rogue.

Tara Willis, Senior Manager, DEI and Philanthropy at Nissan Canada Inc. and Director of the Board of the Nissan Canada Foundation, expressed "We are humbled to continue our longstanding partnership with Habitat Canada by supporting the newly amalgamated Habitat New Brunswick. Their mission aligns perfectly with Nissan Canada Foundation's commitment to enhancing community well-being. The grant will not only empower Habitat New Brunswick to reach more families but will also amplify their voice in advocating for affordable housing. We're excited to be a part of their journey as they drive home the message that everyone deserves a place to call home."

"It is support such as this generosity from Nissan Canada that allows us to build a solid foundation for families in need of a safe, affordable home. Habitat New Brunswick currently has 84 families in homes throughout New Brunswick. Our build plans for this year include construction of a duplex on Albert Street in Fredericton; a modular built duplex on Water Street in Miramichi; a three-bedroom modular built bungalow on Churchill Street in Moncton; and a fully accessible bungalow in Saint John. This newly purchased Nissan Rogue will play a significant role in helping us access these various build sites, as well as annual visits with current homeowner families and attending meetings with municipalities across the province as we plan for many more home build projects," says Perry Kendall, CEO of Habitat New Brunswick.

Nissan Canada Foundation celebrates 30 years of giving with an additional $300,000 donation to get more food to those in need

NISSAN CANADA - Established in 1993, the Nissan Canada Foundation is celebrating 30 years of giving to those in need across the country. To mark the occasion, the Foundation will be donating an incremental $300,000 in 2023 to existing food donation partners from coast to coast. This comes in addition to the $400,000 annually committed to its long-term partners.

With today's increased cost of living and rising food prices affecting audiences across the country, the Nissan Canada Foundation is proud to support food partners that are making a difference to alleviate this growing concern. Partners including, Food Banks Canada, Breakfast Club of Canada, Food Banks Mississauga, La guignolée des médias and Second Harvest Canada, will be supported by the Foundation, ensuring a national presence, impactful work with local communities, and a focus on food rescue and offsetting carbon footprints. The $300,000 donation will be split among these food partners and go towards securing thousands of meals for local communities and people most in need.

"We are proud and humbled to celebrate this incredible milestone. Thirty years in, we have come a long way in making Nissan's vision a reality through the establishment of strong relationships with partners who do such impactful work here in Canada. This milestone is not just a celebration, but also a moment of reflection for all of us on how we can continue to grow the Nissan Canada Foundation and enrich the lives of people in our communities," says Steve Milette, President, Nissan Canada Inc.

A core tenet of Nissan's corporate vision is to improve the quality of life in communities in which the automaker operates. Aligned with Nissan's three chosen areas of focus: the environment, education, and humanitarian relief; the Nissan Canada Foundation establishes lasting partnerships ensuring its efforts lead to long-term tangible differences in people's lives. Habitat for Humanity Canada, the World Wildlife Fund Canada (WWF-Canada) and Food Banks Mississauga are long-standing partners of the Foundation.

The Nissan Canada Foundation is also a source of pride and engagement for the organization's employees.

"In addition to the financial support that the Nissan Canada Foundation has contributed over the years, it has also provided an opportunity to engage our teams in volunteerism. Nissan offers all employees allotted paid days to volunteer in the community in support of the cause and partner of their choice. This has created a culture of giving with enriching and meaningful experiences for our employees, empowering them to think about and support the communities in which they live and work," says Tara Willis, Senior Manager of DEI and Philanthropy, Nissan Canada Inc.
