Nissan reports Canadian sales for April

NISSAN CANADA - Nissan today reported April Canadian sales of 8,078 units, up 16.8 per cent from last year's total of 6,919. Nissan Division sales increased 17.6 per cent in April with 7,416 deliveries, while Infiniti deliveries totaled 662 units, up 8.2 per cent over 2012.
 
NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS
 
• Nissan sales totaled 7,416 units, up 17.6 per cent over April 2012
• Sales of the all-new Pathfinder SUV totaled 725, up 829.5 per cent, its strongest sales months since December 2001
• Nissan Sentra sales jumped 127.8 per cent and was the strongest seller in the line-up with 1,433 units sold
• Nissan NV sales finished April at 141 units, the best month ever for the line-up as the NV200 compact commercial van begins to arrive in dealerships
• Nissan truck sales remained strong with both the Frontier Compact pick-up truck and Armada full-size SUV posting best-ever April sales
• Sales of the Nissan Murano increased 43.4 per cent this month with 416 units
• Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF totaled 48 units, up 28.0 per cent over last April
 
"Nissan's core volume models continue to perform well in a very competitive market and with the all-new Sentra and Pathfinder posting incredibly strong year-over-year sales increases, we expect this trend to continue," said Christian Meunier, President of Nissan Canada Inc. "Our line-up continues to grow with the addition of the NV200 compact van leading to our best-ever commercial vehicle sales in Canada, and in a few months the all-new Versa Note arrives in showrooms."
 
INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS
 
• Infiniti sales totaled 662 units, up 8.2 per cent over April 2012
• Instantly becoming the most popular vehicle in the Infiniti line-up when it arrived late last April, sales of the Infiniti JX luxury crossover totaled 273 units
• Sales of the QX56 full-size luxury SUV increased 31.8 per cent in April, while the Infiniti EX delivered 105 units
