2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid Wins the First-Ever Canadian Green Car Award

FORD CANADA - The 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid was honoured with the first-ever Canadian Green Car Award, in a ceremony held last Friday at the Toronto Green Living Show.   The Canadian Green Car Award program is a new, joint initiative from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) and Green Living Enterprises.

"We are extremely proud that the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid has been honoured by our country's top automotive journalists as the recipient of the inaugural Canadian Green Car Award," said Steve Ross, Ford of Canada's product marketing manager, sustainability and electrification. "The Fusion Hybrid is an important vehicle in the Ford line-up, delivering leading fuel-economy, innovative technologies and a sleek, desirable design for eco-conscious consumers."

Fusion Hybrid raises the bar in the segment by offering leading fuel-efficiency, helpful technologies and game-changing looks. The vehicle is also equipped with a lithium-ion battery, Ford's 3rd generation hybrid system, which allows the vehicle to hit top speed of 100 kilometres an hour under electric only power.

The Canadian Green Car Award recognizes companies within Canada's automotive industry for their continual efforts to provide consumers with fuel-efficient and attractive vehicles with the potential for strong environmental benefits.
