TOYOTA CANADA - Toyota Canada
Inc. (TCI) reported sales of 14,012 Toyota, Lexus and Scion cars,
trucks and SUVs in August, 2011 – up 8.9% from the same month the previous
year. This included a 29.3% boost to passenger car sales across all three
brands, with Lexus luxury passenger sales up 30% for the best ever August.
Supporting Canada’s desire for Toyota vehicles,
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc.’s (TMMC) return to 100% production
capacity ensures a renewed supply of Canadian-built Corolla, Matrix, RAV4
and RX350 vehicles.
With the pending launch of the all-new Camry,
Yaris, Prius v and Scion iQ, the final months of 2011 are shaping up to
be very exciting.
“As Toyota’s sales momentum continues, we
thank those Canadians who helped us outpace the industry in August,” said
Tony Wearing, Managing Director, Toyota Canada Inc. “In addition, the
return to 100% production capacity at our Canadian plants means Canadians
can shop with confidence for our most popular Toyota models.”
