2014 Infiniti Q50 makes national debut at the 2013 Canadian International Auto Show

INFINITI CANADA - Yesterday, along with the help of artists from Cirque du Soleil Special Events, Infiniti took the wraps off the all-new Infiniti Q50 luxury sports sedan at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto. The first vehicle to bear Infiniti's new nomenclature, the Q50 crystalizes the brand's future design, performance and technology direction.

"The new nomenclature reflects Infiniti's desire for clarity and cohesiveness, as we embark on ambitious growth plans, including significant expansion of our portfolio," said Wendy Durward, Director of Infiniti Canada. "The all-new Q50 offers world's first technologies intended to enhance driving experience, and sets the brand's course for further advancements in design and performance."

Two new world's first production performance technologies make their debuts in the Q50 – Infiniti Direct Adaptive Steering technology and Active Lane Control. The new steering system allows advanced control of the Q50's tire angle and steering inputs, transmitting the driver's intentions to the wheels faster than a mechanical system. The Infiniti Q50 is available with a choice of a refined 328-horsepower 3.7-litre V6 or new Q50 Hybrid featuring Infiniti's Direct Response Hybrid System with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control.  Both are available in rear-wheel or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

"Infiniti continues to push the boundaries of design creativity in the premium segment and with the new Q50 we take another great leap in terms of proportion, Infiniti-ness and premium quality," said Taro Ueda, Vice President, Nissan Design America (NDA). "The new design language comes mainly from the Infiniti Trilogy concept cars. A more dynamic, sporty appearance, an unmistakable character to the front end and an energetic profile are exterior highlights. Inside, hospitality and a seamless connection to information resonate. I am proud to be here in Toronto to present the all-new Q50."

Infiniti is the official sponsor and exclusive automotive partner of Cirque du Soleil Touring Shows, and as such the Infiniti CIAS display will include animation by Cirque du Soleil Special Events for photo opportunities throughout the first weekend of the auto show.

Additional Information on the Infiniti Q50

Taking many of its seductive styling cues from the Infiniti Essence concept, the Q50's tight, athletic appearance blends low, wide proportions with excellent interior roominess to a class marked by unexciting design. Infiniti's sports sedan performance leadership continues with the new Q50, which is available with a choice of a refined 328-horsepower 3.7-litre V6 or new Q50 Hybrid featuring Infiniti's Direct Response Hybrid System with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control.

Building on Infiniti's unique approach to making owners' lives easier, which includes the Infiniti Personal Assistant program with 24-hour access to a live team of professional assistants, the new Infiniti InTouch telematics system brings the future of in-car connectivity to the Q50 interior today. Unlike conventional interfaces, the Q50 has not one but two touch capacitive screens with intuitive hand gesture screen operation to easily connect drivers to their lives outside the car.

The all-new 2014 Infiniti Q50 will be offered in Canada beginning in summer 2013.
