Scion Canada gives boost to Canadian motorsports with second year of Scion Contingency Racing Program

SCION CANADA - Scion Canada is excited to announce the launch of the 2013 Scion Contingency Racing Program after a successful 2012 season. Entering its second year, this authentic grassroots program delivers support to passionate racing enthusiasts across Canada.

The Scion Contingency Racing Program is open to enthusiasts who race their own Scion vehicles in sanctioned closed course motorsport events like autoslalom, time attack, drag racing and more. Racers must first register in their chosen events and connect with Scion Canada to receive Scion branded decals and swag.

"What moves Scion, is breaking the rules to stand apart from other brands by offering vehicles that allow people to express their individuality and enjoy cars that fit their lifestyles," said Cyril Dimitris, Director, Scion Canada. "We believe this program will move driving enthusiasts to become even more passionate about taking their personalized Scions to the track. It's a great way for us to give back to Scion enthusiasts."

To be eligible for the Scion Contingency Racing Program, Scion drivers must participate in a minimum of two races. Scion Canada will provide support with monetary prizes if they finish first ($500), second ($300) or third ($150), up to a maximum payout of $4,000 per driver for the season. In addition, extensive promotional activities will support each driver including video, photography, and visibility on Scion's Facebook page at Facebook.com/ScionCanada.

The contingency program – which has proven to be particularly popular with owners of the Scion FR-S and Scion tC in various racing classes – supported four winners in 2012.
