GRAND PRIX DU CANADA - The Formula One Grand Prix du Canada is pleased to announce that the popular Quebec Comedian and announcer José Gaudet has been named as Grand Prix du Canada ambassador.
Co-star of the show "Les Grandes Gueules" which broadcasts on NRJ Radio Network and host of "Les légendes de la route", José Gaudet is a genuine Formula 1 fan and an avid spectator of the Canadian round of the World Championship. Before accepting his role as ambassador, he already confirmed that he would be part of the crowd at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on June 7, 8 and 9 2013.
"We are very happy that José Gaudet has accepted our invitation to become the ambassador for the Grand Prix du Canada. We appreciate passionate, dynamic and enthusiastic people. If you have talked with José about sports car and Formula 1, you realize how suited he is for this role," as President and CEO of Octane Racing Group Francois Dumontier said.
For the past 18 years, José has worked with Mario Tessier at NRJ radio, with whom he started the comedy duo "Les Grandes Gueules". After an extensive tour across the province, "Les Grandes Gueules" made over a million listeners laugh over the entire NRJ network from Monday to Friday between 3pm and 6pm. Since the winter of 2012, José has been hosting the TV show "Les légendes de la route", on Historia Channel.
"I am very happy to be the Grand Prix du Canada ambassador this year. My knowledge of Formula 1 could be stronger, I may not be able to name all the drivers who won a specific Grand Prix, but cars are my passion," declared José Gaudet. "I love wandering around the island during the Grand Prix and meeting all these fans who are excited to see their favourite driver, or to hear the sound of the engines. The Grand Prix du Canada is more than a simple race; it also marks the start of summer, MY favourite season. I encourage all Quebecers to enjoy this event, go out, have fun with your friends, rediscover Montreal and celebrate the arrival of summer. I cannot wait to see you at the Grand Prix du Canada."
