Nissan celebrates National Tree Day, one year anniversary of the first Nissan LEAF delivery in Canada

NISSAN CANADA - On Tuesday, Nissan Canada was a proud sponsor of the National Tree Day launch event in Andrew Haydon Park in Ottawa, where schools, families, individuals and local delegates gathered to celebrate trees and recognize their importance in improving the environment. Also in attendance was Mr. Ricardo Borba, who just over one year ago, was the first Canadian to take delivery of the Nissan LEAF 100 per cent electric vehicle.

In one year, Mr. Borba's travels with his Nissan LEAF have spanned 21,800 kilometers and include a memorable 300 kilometer road trip from Ottawa to Kingston and back again. The Borba family has two vehicles, but opts to drive for the Nissan LEAF 85 per cent of the time – a choice made easy with no gas pipe, zero emissions and the ability to easily travel 160 kilometers on one full charge (U.S. LA4 cycle).
