Nissan Canada Inc. announces September sales results

NISSAN CANADA - Nissan Canada Inc. (NCI) today released September sales of 7,098 units – a decrease of 17.0 per cent over September 2010, while calendar year-to-date sales are up 0.5 per cent. Nissan sales were 6,371 units, down 18.3 per cent over the same month last year. Infiniti sales decreased 3.1 per cent this month to 727 units.  

August was the strongest month ever for Nissan Juke sales in Canada with 511 units sold. The Nissan Rogue crossover continued its momentum with best-ever September sales of 1,473 units, up 18.1 per cent. Sales of Murano remained strong with 595 units sold, an increase of 107.3 per cent over September 2010 while both Armada and Titan recorded year-over-year increases of 39.6 and 36.9 per cent, respectively. Calendar year-to-date Nissan is up 2.4 per cent.
 
The first all-electric Nissan LEAF was delivered to a retail customer in Ottawa, Ontario in September. Between fleet and retail customers 42 Nissan LEAFs have been sold in Canada including 17 in September. Reservations for MY12 Nissan LEAFs will open in the coming weeks. Sales of the Nissan NV full-size commercial van have steadily increased each month since sales began this spring.
 
Sales of the Infiniti M were up 51.4 per cent in September with 53 units sold, while sales of the QX56 increased 185.7 per cent. The updated 2012 Infiniti FX, with a new front fascia, wheels and instrument cluster, arrives in Infiniti showrooms this month and is expected to support growth for the brand.
