Vettel's day in China - A tour of the "real" Shanghai, reflection on Malaysia and the first in his new job

INFINITI RED BULL RACING - Formula One Triple World Champion Sebastian Vettel began preparation for this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix Wednesday settling into his new role with Infiniti and immersing himself in local culture on the streets of Shanghai.

Vettel's day started by meeting with Infiniti representatives to kick start his role as Infiniti's new 'Director of Performance'. The 25 year-old German was given a full briefing on his new assignment which will see him take an active role in the development of the premium brand's road cars amongst other duties.

From there he hit the streets in his Infiniti FX50, meeting local people, tasting various local ingredients and trying his hand at Chinese cooking ahead of a large gala dinner event for top executives from Infiniti China.

At the end of the day, the Infiniti Red Bull Racing driver took time out to reflect on the Malaysian Grand Prix. In an interview exclusive to Infiniti, the World Champion gave his thoughts on what happened two weeks ago and his approach going into this weekend's race at the Shanghai International Circuit.

Commenting on his day in Shanghai, Vettel said: "Coming to China is always a great experience, even more so this year after spending some time with Infiniti in my new role as their Director of Performance. It was great to learn more about the projects I will be working on with Infiniti – spending time with the engineers and developing the latest technologies in our future road cars. Also going out in the city meeting some Chinese and doing some cooking was fun. Of course Malaysia is still in people's minds but my and the team's focus is now on this weekend's race."
