Kia Canada Inc. reports best July on record; achieves 43 months of continued sales growth


KIA CANADA - Kia Canada Inc. recorded its best July ever with 7,683 new vehicles sold, translating into a 20.4 per cent growth when compared to July 2011. Kia Canada continues their strong 2012 performance in the marketplace with a percentage increase of 19 per cent year-to-date, reporting 46,981 units sold. Kia's sales results for July have propelled the company to an industry-leading sales streak of 43 months of continued sales growth.
 
Four vehicle models had volume sales of over 1,000 units in July, leading with the Georgia-built Sorento Sport Utility Vehicle, achieving 1,511 vehicle sales. The Forte family, consisting of the sedan, Koup and 5-Door, continues to be a top performer in July with 1,506 units reported. The all-new Rio subcompact, including the 5-Door and sedan, contributed with an impressive 1,268 reported units. Additionally, the award-winning Optima mid-size sedan also contributed with 1,197 vehicle sales.

In the month of July, in anticipation for Kia Canada's second annual Drive Change Day on August 21st, Kia has begun to air numerous televisions spots, run print ads and use their celebrity ambassadors, like Rick Campanelli, to encourage Canadians to all get involved and give back to their local communities.
 
Kia also launched an all-new 'Sign the Car' Facebook application for their 2012 Targa Newfoundland Kia Forte Koup. The app raises awareness of Kia's "I Pledge" initiative with MADD Canada and allows users to digitally pledge to drive sober while having their electronic signature added to vehicle.
