Kia Canada Inc. achieves best quarter ever; best June on record attaining 42 months of consecutive sales growth

KIA CANADA - Kia Canada Inc. recorded its best June ever with 7,782 new vehicles sold, equaling a 10 per cent growth when compared to June 2011. While accomplishing an industry leading 42 months of continued sales growth, Kia achieved its best first six months of the year ever with 39,298 units sold, representing an 18.7 per cent year-over-year increase.

Driving volume sales for the month of June were four key vehicle lines, representing a variety of Kia's product portfolio. The Forte family, including the sedan, Koup and 5-Door, was Kia's premier volume seller for the second straight month, achieving 1,794 reported units. The award-winning Optima mid-size sedan contributed to 1,241 units sold. The Georgia-built Sorento Sport Utility Vehicle experienced strong sales results as well, with 1,200 units reported. Additionally, the latest vehicle to join Kia's product line, the all-new Rio subcompact, contributed to volume sales of 1,199 units sold.

"Kia is delighted with our on-going success that has been emphasized throughout the first half of the year with multiple best months ever and continued record sales results," said Jack Uczciwek, Director of Sales for Kia Canada Inc. "Consumers are visiting Kia dealerships across the country to experience our exciting and award-winning product portfolio, which combines impressive fuel economy with world-class design, safety and technology features."

In the month of June, Kia Canada participated in many charitable and cultural events. Teaming up with the Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact, Kia collected proceeds for both The KidSafe Project, which was the 2011 Drive Change Day winning charity, and PROCURE, respectively. Furthermore, Kia was a proud presenting partner of Luminato, one of North America's preeminent art and creativity festivals held in Toronto.

Kia Canada also announced two key golf partnerships with their sponsorship of PGA Tour golfer, David Hearn, and by being named the Official Vehicle of the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic. It was publicized that Kia will be the official vehicle supplier of the Québec City and Montréal Grands Prix Cyclistes for the third consecutive year in September 2012. These sports partnerships, in addition to Kia Motors' Official Partnership with the EURO 2012 align with Kia's strong global dedication to sports.
