2013 Scion FR-S makes heart-pumping, adrenaline racing Canadian debut

TOYOTA CANADA - Scion put the sport back into the car yesterday at the Canadian International Auto Show, as the new 2013 FR-S made its debut in Canada.

"With its style, performance, authenticity and originality, the FR-S fits perfectly with the passion Scion is all about," said Larry Hutchinson, Senior Executive Director, Toyota Canada Inc. "The FR-S is a legit sports car – a car that is awesome to drive, a car that is light and nimble, a car that is sleek and sporty, and a car that is exciting and affordable."

For many, the FR-S is the definition of the perfect daily driver and weekend warrior. Its 2-plus-2 seating configuration with a fold-flat cargo area is large enough to transport a full set of race tires for a fun day at the track. In addition, the flat architecture of the FR-S' engine gives it a low centre of gravity, rivaling some exotic supercars.

The FR-S comes straight from the heart of Toyota, reflecting heart-pumping, adrenaline-racing "Waku Doki." The vehicle's lineage comes primarily from three Toyota models: the 2000GT, for its lowness to the ground, and long, sleek hood; the Sports 800, with a front-mounted boxer engine in a rear-wheel drive; and most importantly, the AE86, a moderately priced car that didn't rely on brute horsepower but instead had a remarkable combination of lightweight design, responsive power and perfect balance.

You can also reserve your all-new 2013 FR-S by visiting scionfrs.ca, a new microsite that delivers everything you need to know about this high-performance vehicle.

The FR-S will be on display at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, February 17-26. The Scion exhibit is on 800 Level of the South Building at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
